I reviewed this band's demo a bit ago, and I was not too impressed. This time I am impressed, and it is amazing what better production and cooking your songs a bit longer will accomplish. Sectioned are a UK band, and their debut disc Purulent Reality is a big, ugly Death Metal album the likes of which I don't think the UK has seen since the glory days of Bolt Thrower. Sectioned have sharpened their compositions, removing the tiresome intro tracks and narration, and dishing up fistfuls of shredding Death Metal riffs without any other bullshit getting in the way. Add a thick, sludgy guitar sound that makes me think of shit like Realm of Chaos and you have solid underground Death Metal gold. All three proper songs from the demo are here, but this time they are better-played, narration-free, and heavy as fuck. A strong debut. Buy it. Track Listing:
