This may be a short album at just under 30 minutes, but it packs a lot of punch. Fast, precise, pounding blackened death metal with a few creepy bits is the name of the game here. If you like your lyrics satanic or perverted, you're also bound to find something to like here, especially with harsh but decipherable vocals that can deliver their hateful message to even the uninitiated. Venereal Baptism have done a good job marrying a bit of the old school with a more modern approach to the genre, throwing in the almost-mandatory slower, darker and creepily melodic bits just in the right spots. Good stuff. |
