Fast, old-school blackened thrash is the name of the game here, with tiny bits of death metal sneaking in here and there. The raspy vocals are a little discreet but decipherable enough and fit the songs very well. This is mostly mid to fast paced with some slower, attention-catching parts that prevent this from sounding monotonous. There are tiny bits that remind me of bands like Carpathian Forest and Megiddo when they come on, but then they break into something completely different – I get caught off guard every single time. It's nothing you haven't heard before, but overall it's a good release, albeit a little short – something that isn't helped by the first track being a useless intro that steals 1:39 from the total running time. |
