Russia has tons of Black Metal bands with potential that will probably stay hidden in the depths of the underground unless some people would just let others know about them. I have personally been surprised that the Russian territory has produced so many quality one-man Black Metal bands during the past 10 years or so, one of these bands being called Amezarak. Going by his alias, Lord Dead is the father of this project, and has produced six full-length albums in the span of just four years. His latest album is titled Non Lucidum Tristitia, which was released on Symbol of Domination Productions (a sub-label of Satanath Records) in October 2016. Amezarak's melodic and weeping Black Metal is where Mr. Lord Dead feels at home, quite obviously. Supposedly he hasn't been totally unaware of the 90s' Swedish melodic Black Metal scene as he seems to employ similar types of melodic lines that were a part of the DNA of that sound. To his credit, it must also be mentioned that he has done everything pretty darn properly on this album, both instrumentally and vocally, allowing Amezarak to sound like a full band. The vocals are your typical Black Metal screeches and screams, as they should be. Nothing new under the full moon here but you've got to respect Lord Dead's dedication for his own Black Metal crusade by really putting quite a lot of effort and time into this record. |
