Void Inn is California-based with roots in Serbia and their debut EP, I Can Hope, was independently released back in February 2016. The style is Hard Rock/Heavy Metal and seems right at home on the West Coast of the U.S. The music is heavy but with plenty of modern styling. There's an almost "spacey" quality to it, not unlike early Warrior Soul. The vocals are high and clear (the singer is female) and handle the lines competently. I Can Hope leans too heavily in the Hard Rock direction and too heavily on bands like Danzig and Alice in Chains for inspiration for my tastes. Combine that with the lack of any memorable hooks and I can't see much reason to recommend Void Inn. |
