From Costa Rica comes something else besides some good quality coffee, delicious ananas (pineapples, to North Americans) and bananas. How about some Black Metal? Would you enjoy a bit of it too, perhaps? Alastor Sanguinary Embryo, a five-piece Black Metal act from San José, plays very fast-paced, demonic and strongly keyboard-laden Black Metal on their third album, For Satan and the Ruin of the Divine – and this is actually pretty well-crafted stuff from start to finish. These Black Metal soldiers don't bring anything new to the table musically, but to their credit they seem to know their stuff and give it their 100 percent. Unfortunately, for a Black Metal record, the album feels a bit too long: nearly 58-minutes of aggression and speed is a tad too much. They could have well squeezed the total length of this record into a somewhat optimal 40-45 minutes only, just to keep the listeners' interest alive a bit better.

For Satan and the Ruin of the Divine isn't THAT bad of an album by any means, but then again, with this album they supposedly forgot that one important and crucial rule: sometimes less is better.
