Omnifariam is a Puerto Rican Death Metal band and Vitiate is their first EP after a demo in 2013 and a single in 2014. This is straightforward, thrashy Death Metal with staccato riffing, precision drumming and vocals that are throaty but not "burp and barf." There's a good combination of viciousness and melody in the four tracks ("The Beginning" is an instrumental intro) and though none really stand out, there's definitely promise. The guys in the band play well and have a firm grasp on the sound they want. Vitiate isn't original but it is energetic with a streak of attitude. |
