This is a very tasty demo by a trio from down the way in Texas. Jason Tarpey from Eternal Champion and two other guys make up the band that plays a very classy kind of underground Epic Metal. The recording is very good for a demo, sounding just the right mix of clear and echoing that calls up a sense of lost places and ancient times. There are similarities to other classic US bands like Manilla Road or even Warlord, and this is five songs of pure joy for fans of the style. The title cut is a clear highlight, but the closer "Bloodstone Ring" is another highly catchy and haunting tune. This is an underground gem to seek out and treasure. |
