France used to be an epicenter of awesome Black Metal bands, but that seems to have come to an end, and now anything French is not just automatically good. Suhnopfer have a silly name, a ripping guitar sound, and some of the most annoying vocals I have heard all year. The riffage on here is good, not sounding a million miles removed from bands like Belenos, but the vocals are a falsetto screech that sounds like someone is torturing a dwarf inside a helium tank. Any enjoyment I might take in this is ruined every time the guy opens his yap and squeaks at me. A failure. |
