Sense of Fall is a Finnish band that plays a non-descript, modern style of Heavy Metal on their debut EP Fallen Statues. The riffs are decent but the guitars sound a bit down-tuned which, combined with the mix of clean and harsh singing, gives Sense of Fall's music a little too much of the modern for my taste. Singer Anni K. has an odd voice which I originally thought was a guy's but she can actually sing. The production is sterile and mechanical which shouldn't be surprising as this is a self-released affair but there's little feeling to what are supposed to be emotional songs, if I'm hearing the lyrics correctly.

I'm not sure which direction Sense of Fall will head after Fallen Statues. It isn't bad but in the crowded world of Heavy Metal it is utterly faceless and devoid of anything individual or unique.
