Chile has a good underground Metal scene, producing mostly extreme Black/Death Metal bands in its dark catacombs. From the capital of Santiago hails a rebellious and violent Black/Death Metal trio called Kratherion and their second album, Mantra Lucifer Flagelantes, doesn't buck this trend. The members of Kratherion carry bravely carry torches in the name of ancient, evil spirits of death and destruction reminding me of a vile, bastard child of bands like Angelcorpse, Blasphemy, Sadistic Intent and Beherit. Kratherion's music is full of hatred, maliciousness and grand, blasphemous arts. Black blood is boiling, souls are taken to be exterminated and Armageddon is knocking at Death's door. This album is all about raw, chaos-infested and dark, yet typical, Chilean-styled Black/Death Metal and it's pretty much irresistible if you happen to be a fan of Kratherion's brand of Metal. Sounds tempting, doesn't it? If so, what are you waiting for? |
