Metal Inquisitor have been kicking ass for well over a decade now, producing a bunch of fun albums, and one absolute killer with Doomsday for the Heretic back in '05. This album continues their tradition of pummeling Heavy Metal goodness in the vein of Paragon, Stormwarrior, or Saxon. This is a stronger album than their last one, with some real standouts like "Call the Banners" and "Servant of State". The vocals of El Rojo remain nasally and kind of odd, unchanged from their previous works. So this is a Metal Inquisitor album - better than their last, if not their best work overall. The band does not break their pattern or their style, they just do what they do as well as they ever have. Reliable. |
