This is the third independent release from Brazilian tech-Death band Khrophus. I have developed a taste for Technical Death over the years so long as it is either inventive and melodic like Decrepit Birth or utterly ferocious like Origin. This is not really either, as it reminds me most strongly of the terrible Spawn of Possession - though not anywhere near that bad. Still, this lacks a really heavy guitar sound, keeps throttling the momentum of the riffs with stop-time breaks, and fills the songs with widdly-weedly guitar diddling without producing anything really impressive in the lead department. Tiresome. |
