Second album for this French band that play Melodeath tinged with proggishness to create a sound that is not too original, and not too interesting. The recording is solid, but the songs are lackluster and the riffing has that annoying stop-start quality that I guess is what goes for prog these days. The vocals alternate between an utterly undistinguished rasp and cleanish singing that is more distinctive but also more annoying. Keys provide a nice amount of space and feel to an album that is otherwise repetitive and dull. |
