This band is billed as "Extreme Gothic Metal", which is not really a thing as far as I am concerned. But they really mean they play slow-paced Melodic Death Metal with vocals that are somewhat more tuneful without quite being clean. They have a lot of keyboards in the mix, but they don't let them dominate. They are going for a dark, oppressive atmosphere here, and they do have some good riffs and melodies, but their songs go on too long for the amount of interest they can really sustain. Even at only 37 minutes, this gets tedious way too fast. Not bad, but not great either. |
