Kraaker is perhaps a strange name for a band, although this is not an ordinary act. This Norwegian duo is composed of Skangelfant on guitars and Knocklkass on bass and vocals. A session drummer, H.Brun is also part of the team. Founded in the fall of 2006, Kraaker present their debut full-length on Final Earthbeat Productions.

Musik Fra Vetteness Dom was all written in their native kvlt tongue. Apparently, it is based on local stories and those guys pushed the envelope a bit by adding a theatrical feel to their storytelling. The band is said to have been inspired by Arcturus' Asperia Hiems Symphonia, as well as by Tulus. Without being an off the wall avant-garde type of band, they do have an adventurous approach in their black metal arts, along with a melodic touch. The sound production is pretty good and the overall tone is powerful. The drum is punchy and the bass is buzzing with strength, to back up the distorted and crushing guitar work and the raspy vocals. Not being typical black metal or the least generic, the duo has come up with creative ingenuity, without resorting to electronic gadgets or even keyboards. Clean vs. distorted arpeggios, leads, some acoustic guitars, a bit of laughers and varied paces all bring in their personal touch of harmonies. Their adventurous vibe comes from expressive vocals, some cool time signatures and intricacy in their songwriting. This is not bad at all considering a debut effort.

Musikk Fra Vettenes Dom is well worth checking out due to quite a few great compositions like "I Sommerens Sol Er De Brendt", " Faysende Snute", "Sirkus ad Vex" and "Geitspil".
