In existence under the current name for well over 20 years, Spain's Kilmara now has five full-length albums to their credit with the 2025 release of Journey to the Sun. They play melodic/power metal that hits all the right notes with songwriting that is good but on the generic side, so the songs aren't overly distinctive. If you told me some of them came from an album by Serenity or Kaledon or Mob Rules or any number of melodic metal bands, I'd likely believe you. This is a case of an album that sounds perfectly good while it is on but doesn't leave the same lasting impression as others in the genre. You should still give it a listen if melodic/power metal is your thing.
