This is a weird band who are mixing in a lot of the different Doom sounds and coming up with something that is just a mishmash. This has a certain stoner aesthetic, but it doesn't sound very stoner. This mostly sounds like classic-era Doom/Death like Winter or old My Dying Bride—slow, dragging riffs and gargling vocals that kind of grind away without adding any drama or quality to the songs, they're just there. The songs are pretty shapeless, just thugging along until they stop, without any build or resolution. I kind of like the low-fi retro sound of this, but then I keep waiting for it to do something and it never does. |
