I rather like this band, but they are not doing anything that has not already been done many, many times. This is a Swedish band who used to be a solo act, and this is their 5th album in only 8 years. This is a bit more individual than their last one, with more of an emphasis on the atmospheric keys and melodic layering to create a more epic feel. The base is still a very standard blast of rather monotonous drums and repetitive tremolo riffs that mostly just scale up and down. It's engaging enough while it plays, and it's well produced and well played, but it's nothing that exciting. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
