This band released their best work—the violent Gesundrian—back in 2014 and then promptly broke up. They got back together in 2016 and then produced their comeback album in 2019. Problem is, Amongst the Flames of a Bvrning God was just not very good, and so I initially skipped this one when it came out back in the summer. But I am glad to discover that Inexorable Nexus finds Diocletian back on track.

Violent, chaotic Black/Death Metal is what this band trades in—what some people call "War Metal" with the relentless speed and themes of warfare and death. The production is not as crunchy as I might like, but the killing speed and slaytanic riffage is on proud display. If you like Angelcorpse or similar bands, then this is an album to get into. Glad to see Diocletian are back to kill some more christians.
