Sometimes you are just in the mood for some chugging, gurgly Death Metal that sounds like it was recorded in 1994, and this would be the shit right here. This is a UK band who are definitely influenced by bands like Disincarnate or early Suffocation, though this band is maybe not as technical as that makes them sound. This is tight, but mostly slower-paced stuff with a swimming-pool-deep guitar sound and that deep-throated Frank Mullen-styled vocal gargling. This is a band who have enough attitude and heaviness to carry them past the fact that their music has definitely been done before. They are going for a particular sound, and they are fucking nailing it. |
