Second album for this Greek band, who do not sound that Greek, though they do have that melodic edge that seems impossible to ignore from these kinds of bands. The musicianship is solid, and it is sometimes startling when they bust out a solo that is far more emotive and incisive than what you would expect. The sound is good, with a big guitar sound and a lot of space, so this sounds much more in line with more modern black metal than anything old school. The songwriting is pretty baggy, and these songs just kind of carry along until they end, without anything really to give them structure. I enjoy this while it's on, but it leaves little trace behind. See below for more reviews and interviews... ↓ |
