This is Death Metal that harks back to the good old days of the original deathsplosion back in the late '80s-early '90s. I hear some Obituary, some Malevolent Creation, some Morbid Angel, some Vader. Nothing new, but that's not the point on albums like this—this is meant to be subterranean, chugging, pummeling Death Metal that sounds like nothing in the genre evolved past 1992—and I say that as a compliment. If you want stuff that just drives a train made of skulls right through everything, then this is that kind of album. |
