The Finnish death metal scene has been really damn active for a good while now, with so many high-quality bands engaging in musical warfare to stand out from one another. Soul Incursion entered the ongoing skirmish with their debut EP back in 2023, which is a good, meaty chunk of slightly thrash Florida-esque death metal in the vein of Monstrosity and Deicide. The riffs are good, the solos are good, the vocals are OK, and the songs are simple, vicious, and direct while still injecting some striking melodies to ensure your neck gives out by the time it's all done. There's not much more to say about these lads yet, but as a small taste of what they are capable of, it's definitely a strong argument for keeping an eye on them. I certainly am, and odds are you will too after listening to Eternal Darkness. |
