This is a bit like a trip back to the mid-90s when the likes of the French Black Legions and other lo-fi bands from Norway and Sweden were torturing the masses. The black metal here is about as basic as it gets musically, the vocals often don't sound like words at all, more like an agonizing sound, and overall the songs are rather repetitive, largely the same beat from beginning to end, producing a rather hypnotic and entrancing atmosphere throughout this aural chaos. That might sound bad, but if you have a thing for this raw, lo-fi stuff like I do, this short EP is strangely addictive. |
