This was apparently put out as a demo back in June, but now it is getting a full album release. I don't know if this has been re-recorded, but I would suspect not, as it is low-fi Black Metal, and a better recording job would not be good for the atmosphere and mood of this kind of thing. This is somewhat raw, "woodsy" Black Metal with some keyboard flourishes added to make it sound as much as possible like In the Nightside Eclipse. That's pretty much what this band is going for, along with maybe early Satyricon or Grom-era Behemoth. This has good melodies buried in the murky sound, and actually I think the keys are integrated much better than Emperor did it in the old days. A band that shows definite promise. |
