It's been seven years since Anasarca released the damn solid Survival Mode, and a good bit longer since they reunited in 2013 after going on hiatus in 2004, but now we finally have a demo that proves they're far from done yet. There may only be three songs on here, but they are all blasts of tried-and-true old-school death metal that's straightforward, merciless, and uncompromising in its approach. This is fast and furious material with a shroud of ominous menace to it that reminds me a bit of Demigod's Slumber of the Sullen Eyes, only Anasarca are more direct than that might imply. Any worthwhile demo should make you hungry for more, and if this is anything to go by, I'm willing to bet we're going to get a real monster of an album on our hands. Until then, just sink your teeth into this brief but meaty work of old-school death metal that's about as pure as it can get. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
