Here's an album that slipped through the cracks here, like so many others. Mid-90s-style blasting black metal forms the base of Dawn of Infinite Fire, but it's not just mindless blasting. The atmosphere is pretty damn dark and haunting, with some vocals that will give you the chills—excellent stuff right there. For the most part this is just non-stop blasting, wall-to-wall black metal with a hint of melody that's not without reminding me of the early 2000s French scene, interestingly more so than the Greek scene. There are some cleaner vocal passages I could have done without as they sound out of place. It's not the most original stuff out there, but it's done very well. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
