Looks like I missed a lot of ADX's more recent catalogue, so I'm going to have to do something about that. Here ADX's mid-80s heavy/speed metal roots still show, with a good mix of aggression and melody, the latter augmented by the clean French-sung vocals. My first language is French and I found a lot of choruses got stuck in my head, even more so than the music which is more or less catchy in itself. Your mileage may vary. ADX's heavy metal is still a bit on the speedy side, with lots of blazing guitars and fast drum parts that, how should I put it... kick a lot of ass. Their sound is not stuck in the past and has a modern touch including some subtle power metal vibes here and there. It's no secret that a lot of heavy metal albums being released these days tend to stick to the old-school revival and end up sounding similar, but this band that could actually get away with doing just that has come up with an album that sounds different enough to stick out of the crowd.
