It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Forgotten Tomb are never going to match the bleak masterworks of their early days like Songs to Leave or Love's Burial Ground, but at least they seem to have cleaned the gothic crap out of their system for the time being. This is a definite step up from their last album, with a harder edge and more dedication to twisted, atonal riffs. The guitar sound is good, and there are no clean vocals stinking up the works this time. Some of the melodies are a little simplistic and accessible, but not that many. Overall this is a big step in the right direction. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
