Chilean thrashers Evil Offering almost sound original in this day and age as they play a more modern (in a good way) brand of thrash metal when so many bands are releasing more old-school thrash than any set of ears can handle. I guess the likes of Warbringer are feeling a little less isolated with this contribution. I've always found post-2000 modern thrash to be closer to that of the Bay Area school, that is clean and rather ear-friendly, yet not lacking in aggression. That is all very true of Ofrenda maligna, which is chock-full of fast, precise, clean thrash that takes no prisoners. The lyrics are in Spanish and I'm personally not fond of songs sung in Spanish, but this is one of those exceptions where, at least to my ears, it really works. The singer is loud and sounds so fucking pissed off, and the sound of the language somehow amplifies that, and makes for a perfect match for the speedy, aggressive thrash on offer here. This is the kind of stuff that results in crazy most pits, and it's a lot of fun. If you need a break from old-school thrash revival bands, or even if you don't, check these guys out.
