Thirty-three minutes of sweet brutal death metal insanity is what Carnivore Diprosopus offer us with Rise of the Insurrection. The vocalist uses a very gargly growl that sometimes borders on pig squeals, but I find his style quite tolerable and it's a good fit here, and the way he keeps up with the beat is kind of jumpy and that has a surprisingly catchy effect that adds to the fun of the listening to this album. This is fast and unrelenting, as can be expected, and often some bands of the genre sound a bit messy, but this band plays tight and this little slab of aural violence sounds quite orderly while it destroys everything in its path. I can't say the band sets itself apart from the crowd, but they do this very well and there's that urge to hit Play again once the album is over. |
