Kingdom of Tyrants are a 5-piece U.S. metal act composed of past and present members from acts like Steel Assassin and Meliah Rage, and they give you exactly what you expect with their debut, Architects of Power. On the one hand, that means this is an album with no surprises that will be very safe and familiar to anyone deep in the U.S. scene, but on the other, that just means you get to hear seasoned veterans of the genre spin out no frills, no bullshit old-school NWOBHM inspired metal overflowing with hooks and air guitar worthy riffs and solos. There's really not much more you can say about this, but then, what more could you really ask for? This won't blow your mind, but if you're in the market for Golden Age revival material whose only gimmick is kicking your ass, then this is a damn good time. |
