This is an interesting and diverse piece of music. I picked black metal as the genre but there’s so much more going on here. I’m reminded of dark, occult, psychedelic stuff from the ‘70s when we’d go into a friend’s basement, turn off the light and play some creepy stuff that a parent or older sibling owned, and we’d be scared to hell. It’s very atmospheric, very ambient music that has a very hypnotic effect; I’ve found it hard to do something else while listening to this as the music kept drawing me back in. The vocals are clean and deep, a very entrancing style not unlike what you’d hear on the soundtrack of a movie taking place in medieval times. On occasion you’re snapped back to reality with some heavy, fast black metal before things get trippy again. The kind of album that makes you feel like you’ve been taken elsewhere and back without quite realizing it.
