Spit the Blood is a Greek death/thrash act whose sophomore album, Embracing the Flaw, is about as meat and potatoes as you can get with your Death/Thrash. It’s heavy and mean, it reminds you of Malevolent Creation, Cannibal Corpse, Sepultura, and the like, and it has a damn good time doing it no matter what you think. The only things they do that stands out a little is making their songs mostly mid-paced and having more hooks than average, certainly enough to keep your attention until the end. You’ve probably heard plenty out there that’s like this album, but when it gives asskickers like "Slaughters" and the slightly punky "Red Finger," what’s the harm in hearing one more? Worth a listen. |
