Sometimes it is good to hear a straight-up Death Metal album that isn’t even trying to do anything original. Angerot may be from South Dakota, but their sound is all Swedish. If you love the classics of the ‘90s as much as this band does—Entombed, Carnage, Dismember, etc.—then this will be just the shit you are looking for. Angerot don’t do anything you haven’t heard before, adding just enough of a melodeath flourish to the leads to give this a bit of identity, but don’t mistake that for weakness, this album is all teeth. |
