This is yet another death metal album that won’t revolutionize the genre, but is nevertheless quite listenable. There are some American and Polish influences in the music, whereas the vocals are more of an acquired taste that borderline remind me of Master, though not quite there. I find the band does its most interesting work on the fast songs with some pretty cool riffage and some headbanging moments that will make your neck hurt. The slower passages are nothing to sneeze at, some of them catchy enough to stick in your head and make you want to play the songs over and over. As with a lot of metal genres, death metal is pretty crowded these days and there isn’t really anything here that will make the band stand out in the crowd, but The Vision is a good pick if you’re looking for something unpretentious, yet effective. |
