This is a cool little slab of melodic black metal. The vocals aren't decipherable enough to tell most of the time (and I have the digital edition; no lyrics; I don't know if they're in the cassette edition), but according to Metal Archives, they sing about the historical life of Vlad Tepes. The whole album has this nearly constant sound that just chugs along and I'd normally say it's repetitive, but I actually find it hypnotic, and that certainly sticks with you once the album is over. The atmosphere is somewhat bleak yet beautiful, contrasting somewhat with the harsh screeches. Despite this being melodic black metal, there's a raw backbone to this, though it's sometimes pushed aside by the more melodic passages. A little different from the usual.
