Death Doesn't Wait is the debut album from Poland's Night Lord, a band that plays turbocharged speed metal that sounds straight out of the '80s. It is pedal to the metal for these guys and frankly the album goes by in a blur that feels far shorter than its 41+ minute run time. There's a lot of energy in the frantic riffing, jackhammer drumming and wild, screaming vocals, but none of the songs really comes together, rather most are merely vehicles to show how fast Night Lord can play. That makes for a fair debut and fans of early Slayer and Exciter along with newer bands like Midnight and Seax will probably get the most out of what Night Lord is offering, but I'm hoping they put more focus on their songcraft for the next album.
