Third album for this Italian Doom band, who have the Doom riffs thing down, but have some of the weakest vocals you have ever heard. Guitarist/Organist/Vocalist "Alastair Skull" thugs out some groovy riffs, but his vocals are kind of a flat, passionless whine that is at least mixed low enough that it doesn't crowd out anything else. If this band had a singer with any kind of charisma at all, they would be kicked up a notch and might be something you wouldn't want to miss. As it is, Black Spell have good riffs and a good groove and that's about all. |
