I first thought this was the black metal band LIK, but this is the death metal one, also from Sweden, and from the reviews I've read it looks like this is the better band (opinions will vary, I guess). Anyway, these guys play Swedish death metal with a very strong old-school vibe; that guitar sound is unmistakable, and they couple that with The Crown circa Deathrace King, so you get plenty of speed and a certain level of catchiness to their songs. It's fast, crunchy, crisp and heavy and, while it's been done before, I found the album quite entertaining, and it doesn't get boring even after dozens of listens. If you're looking for some no-frills, spiced-up Swedish death metal, look no further. |
