In true kvlt fashion, this band has existed for 13 years, but this is their debut full-length after over a decade of demos, singles, EPs, and splits. I think this was originally a one-man act, but it’s hard to tell. I expected this to be very raw, but in fact the production is top quality, with a sawing, gnashing guitar sound and a lot of layers to the music, so it becomes a murky wall of evil seething. I am not surprised to see the Osmose name on this, though it has more depth than the usual release from this label. I find the composition to be really meaty and with a lot going on, and even if these songs sound quite a bit alike, I do not get bored listening. A strong album. |
