This is a Canadian band getting their independent debut rereleased on Avantgarde Music, which would explain why I have it now. Vastatum play expansive, melodic Black Metal that takes more than a bit from the Cascadian sound with long songs, sweeping tremolo riffing, and a lot of atmosphere. There's nothing really original about this, but it picks what it wants to do and does it pretty well. |
