This British thrash band is all over the place. You don't quite know what brand of thrash you prefer the most? Put this album on. Thrasherwolf have it all on We Are Revolution: raw crossover thrash, more aggressive and chaotic '80s German style, the cleaner Bay Area style, more modern thrash (the one that's usually kind of frowned upon on this site, not the revival stuff), and anything in between those landmarks. I didn't really like this on the first listen, but the more I listened to it, the more I appreciated the diversity even though it makes the album sound kind of disjointed. It's like a slideshow of the various thrash trends since the mid-80s or so. The band show a lot of flexibility in their songwriting and playing abilities, and that's certainly worth something. Even the bits I usually don't like much actually don't sound all that bad here, partly because it's usually just one song out of the whole album, but also because Thrasherwolf are really good at what they do and make that stuff tolerable. I don't know if this was intentional on their part, but I do have to give them props for bringing together so many thrash derivatives and making them sound relatively good as a whole. There's something for every thrasher here. It's a bit of a rollercoaster, but these guys know how to thrash and there's more than enough heaviness, speed and aggression to keep things interesting.
