This is a Heavy/Doom band from Florida, and while it shows some real promise, it's not awesome or anything. Miasma Theory play heavy, groovy riffs, but the production is a little weak, and the guitar sound needs more meat on it. Vocalist Mara Lisenko has a smooth voice, but she doesn't push herself much, so a lot of the vocal melodies develop a kind of sameyness—they sound nice, but they blend together more than a little, much like the songs overall, really. I like this band's approach, but I think their songwriting needs some more work. |
