Ascended Dead are a US Death Metal act that released their debut album back in 2017. Unsurprisingly they play in the vein of luminaries like Morbid Angel and... actually, that's the main influence they're drawing from. On the one hand, they're perfectly competent musicians and songwriters, and there's nothing about this that I'd call bad. On the other hand, every idea on this disc has been done countless times before, and they aren't really good enough to stand out in a sea of bands like this. Fun while it's on, but you won't find much reason to put it on again afterwards.
