The ocean of bands that knocked around in the '80s, sometimes with an album or two, other times not, but ultimately didn't make it out of the decade is apparently limitless as evidenced by Mindless Sinner and their debut Turn on the Power from 1986, which is getting a vinyl re-release via Pure Steel Records in 2021. The Swedish band released this album, and one other in 1989 using an abbreviated name and featuring a hard rock style, before taking a break until 2014 (with a brief reunion in the early 2000s) when they started releasing albums again.

Turn on the Power is every bit your typical '80s heavy metal album. The band displays a lot of energy and the lyrics cover the usual fare of women and the metal lifestyle for the most part. The playing is solid but not overly noteworthy and the songwriting is catchy and fun while the album is on but is ultimately quite generic. Mindless Sinner naturally have a European vibe and I hear similarities to several other bands that were active in the '80s and are now active again such as Torch, Weapon UK and Axewitch. It's a decent album, though you've likely heard similar music dozens of times before so unless you live and breathe '80s metal, I wouldn't call it necessary to have in your collection.
