Satan Worship are a band composed of members from acts like Morgoth, Hellkommander, and Sodomizer, with pseudonyms like Leatherface Perkele (vocals/bass), Max the Nekromancer (guitars), and Marc Reign El Patron (drums). If that somehow doesn't tell you that this band plays a brand of Black/Thrash akin to Venom and Motörhead being chewed up and spit out by Bathory's debut, then you must be new to the genre. They got some attention with their 2017 debut, I'm the Devil, back when they were a two-piece act composed of Leatherface and drummer Incitatus, and their sophomore record Teufelssprache sees them continuing their satanic crusade with more of the stripped-down arrangements and blasphemous attitude that got them that attention in the first place. Nothing fancy, nothing too over the top, and certainly nothing deep, just an uncompromising dose of diabolical Blackened Thrash that contains songs with titles like "Under the Sign of the Reaper", "Satanik Werewolves", and "Motherfuckers of the Apokalipse". Fun for when you feel like getting drunk and turning the cross upside down. |
