Vol. 2 is, naturally, the second release from Skyryder, a band from the U.K. that is beginning their career with a couple of self-released EPs (this one was recently picked up by High Roller Records). They play power/thrash that is not actively offensive, though the vocals are a bit screamy, but is just sort of generic. I kept waiting for one of the songs to rise about the rest but every time I played Vol. 2, it's 23 minutes and 50 seconds just went by in a nondescript blur. Skyryder have defined "average" with Vol. 2. I don't hate it, but I can't find much reason to go back to it, either. |
