It had been a long time since I listened to Spearhead and I certainly hoped they would not let me down and once again deliver some solid death metal. Well, that's exactly what they did here, and I'm all smiles. There are no surprises on this album: Spearhead are basically just steering the ship in the same direction as before, and to hell with the waves. Fast, precise, pounding death metal is what this is, and they do it right. Shrieking guitars, fast, crushing drums and visceral vocals that tear through your eardrums are what this band is all about. Why change a recipe that works, especially when you mix the ingredients so well. Good stuff. |
